Overview

Geography is the study of the earth's physical properties, their locations and the human societies spread across it.

It also deals with the interaction of human cultures and the environments and the manner in which locations and places impact on human societies.

There are two branches in the study of geography: physical geography and human geography.

Traditional world maps and atlases - both printed and globe based - is another means to introducing students to the physical geography of the planet. It also helps to cement an awareness of where the world's countries, societies and cultures are located.

Field trips and exploration of local geographical sites of interest also contribute to a more hand-on understanding of real world geography.
